Angie and Amal! George Clooney‘s fiancee Amal Alamuddin and his pal Brad Pitt both supported Angelina Jolie in London, Thursday, June 12, on day three of the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict.
Pitt joined his love Jolie in the front row of the auditorium while British attorney Alamuddin sat in a separate section of the room, which was filled with government dignitaries, international relations experts, leaders, survivors of crises, and activists. Jolie, a UN special envoy and humanitarian, kicked off her role as the summit’s co-chair (alongside British Foreign Secretary William Hague) on Tuesday, June 10.
Hollywood’s power couple matched in professional attire, wearing black suits, heels for Jolie, and studious reading glasses for her hunky love. Following a plenary session, the two explored an exhibit, which featured the photographs of victims of violence.
Though Pitt’s Oceans Eleven costar and close confidant Clooney was nowhere in site, Alamuddin jotted down notes throughout the day. The human rights lawyer looked pretty and polished in a bright red business suit, which she paired with printed pointed-toe pumps. Like Jolie, Alamuddin has a close connection to the United Nations: the London-based barrister is an appointed adviser to former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
Following her engagement news to Clooney in April, Alamuddin’s law firm, Doughty Street Chambers, immediately sang the praises of their employee. “She brings a bright light to everything she is involved in,” a chief executive said. Another colleague called her a “brilliant and passionate defender of human rights.”
