George Clooney

George Clooney is an Oscar-winning actor and producer. Clooney spent most of his childhood in Kentucky and briefly attended college to study broadcast journalism but didn’t graduate. He attended a professional baseball tryout, but after not making the cut, he made the decision to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting.

Clooney got his start with guest roles on shows such as Centennial and Riptide. Shortly after his appearance on the latter, he got his big break as Dr. Doug Ross on the NBC medical drama ER. He earned two Emmy nominations and three Golden Globe nominations for the role.

He went on to star in numerous hit films, becoming a distinguished leading man and Hollywood heartthrob. His credits include From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Ocean’s Eleven (2001), Michael Clayton (2007) and Tomorrowland (2015).

The actor made his directorial debut with 2002’s Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. He boasts directing credits on films such as The Ides of March (2011), The Tender Bar (2021) and The Boys in the Boat (2023).
He has racked up two Academy Awards, a BAFTA Award, four Golden Globe Awards and four Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. He was honored with the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2018 and was among those celebrated at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2022.

In 1989, Clooney married Talia Balsam, but the pair divorced three years later. He was later linked to Cameron Diaz, Krista Allen, Linda Thompson and Lisa Snowdon. In June 2011, he split from Italian model Elisabetta Canalis after two years of dating.

Clooney started dating WWE’s Stacy Keibler in July 2011, but they split in July 2013. Clooney married human rights lawyer Amal Clooney in September 2014, and the pair welcomed twins Alexander and Ella in June 2017.
