Gangs all here! Amal Alamuddin and George Clooney kicked off their wedding festivities on Friday, Sept. 26, in Venice, Italy. The couple, who were all glammed up, were joined by Matt Damon, his wife Luciana Barroso, Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski and more close family members and friends for a celebratory his and her evening.
Wearing a gorgeous red gown, Alamuddin stunned while exiting Hotel Cipriani and boarding a water taxi with the rest of the female guests, who separated from the men to celebrate her bachelorette dinner at Aman Canal Grande.
In a separate men’s only boat, was a tuxedo clad Clooney, who boated off with his guys for a dinner at Da Ivo. In one snap, the men all joined together, cheering their drinks around the Gravity actor who smiled from ear to ear.
Earlier in the day, the guests arrived via water taxis which boasted “AG” monogrammed flags. As previously reported by Us Weekly, 79-room Hotel Cipriani has been transformed into a romantic idyll, ready to host the weekend’s festivities. The converted 19th century Granary has been fitted out with stunning crystal chandeliers.
The couple plan to say “I do” on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande, where former Rome mayor and Clooney’s pal Walter Veltroni will be the “celebrant” at the ceremony, performing the official wedding duties. Following the nuptials, the wedding party and guests will return to Hotel Cipriani for late-night drinks and fireworks.
“Everyone is very excited,” one source previously told Us. “It’s going to be quite the party.”
