Grammy-winning singer Lorde joined the ranks of Lena Dunham, Karlie Kloss, and Selena Gomez earlier this year when she nabbed one of the coveted spots in Taylor Swift's inner circle.
The New Zealand-born star, 18, is now one of Swift's besties, and dished to Jimmy Fallon about their friendship on The Tonight Show on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
"She sent me some flowers, which was so nice," Lorde said of her first interaction with Swift, 24. "She just sent them to my house and said like, 'Congratulations on everything.'"
The "Yellow Flicker Beat" performer, who had a meteoric rise to fame in the past year, said she was taken aback by Swift's kind gesture. "I was like, 'God!'" she exclaimed. "'I need to know more!'"
The "Blank Space" singer's flowers paid off, as she and Lorde became fast friends.
"We actually met up here in New York," the wunderkind explained. "We had Shake Shack, which I feel like is kind of a good bonding… a friendship like bonds with those thick-ass milkshakes."
Said milkshakes did the trick as the stars have just gotten closer, attending award shows together and spending time in New York City.
"She's really funny and people don't expect it," Lorde said of Swift. "It's really dry and you're almost like, 'Wait… did I? Is that what you just… Did that just happen?'"
