One year makes a huge difference! Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson hit Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this past weekend with his new fiancee FKA twigs in Indio, Calif., where the couple rocked out in the desert sun with his celebrity pal Katy Perry on Sunday, April 12.
An observer tells Us Weekly that Pattinson, 28, and his musician love, 27, walked into the artist compound with a group of friends before Kaskade’s set started on Sunday night. A few minutes into Kaskade’s main stage set, the EDM star attracted one of the weekend’s largest audience, and one nearly as big as what Calvin Harris brought to the main stage last year! Even Usher, with an inflatable boot cast and cane, hobbled through the artist compound to catch a glimpse of the performance.
The newly engaged couple — news broke of their wedding plans on April Fools’ Day — were walking around and flanked by fans clamoring for photos, but Pattinson simply wanted to spend time with his love and their pals. They then joined Perry, 30, and her entourage, who were all dancing to a song.
“It’s really funny watching Rob try to dance,” the source tells Us of the British actor and musician, whose songs “Never Think” and “Let Me Sign” were included on the Twilight soundtrack in 2008. “But, FKA clearly knows what she’s doing!”
Despite the heartthrob’s inability to keep to the beat, the insider adds that he was really adorable with his fiancee. “Rob had his arms wrapped around FKA, kind of cradling her,” the source adds. “He really seems obsessed with her!”
While the music was playing, FKA [nee Tahliah Debrett Barnett] and Pattinson would whisper, smile, and laugh together.
The VIP section, which included Rihanna, a few of her girlfriends, and Lil Trav, filtered out right before Drake wrapped.
The previous night, Pattinson and FKA again partied with Perry, this time at Jeremy Scott‘s massive Moschino house party held at the Desert Compound.
Us Weekly confirmed on April 2 that Pattinson and FKA were engaged after six months of dating. Their news, however, was first revealed by none other than T-Pain, who spilled the secret during an April Fools’ Day interview.
