Hang the stockings and spin the dreidel! Like the hybrid celebration dreamed up by Seth Cohen (Adam Brody) on The OC, this holiday cocktail brings together elements of both Christmas and Hanukkah. It’s an extra festive tipple that you’ll want to make for holiday parties and dinners. “This cocktail sort of tastes like you mixed a Peppermint Patty and an Old-Fashioned,” says Bryan Schneider, bar director for Quality Branded, the company behind NYC hotspot Squares, where both Kendall Jenner and A$AP Rocky have been spotted.
To make the peppermint syrup, “You could literally just melt down some candy canes, or you could add peppermint extract to simple syrup,” he tells Us. Adorning the glass with a couple of chocolate coins and a miniature candy cane as garnishes, he says: “You can never get too kitschy — that’s what the holidays are all about!”
Watch Schneider demonstrate his technique before mixing one up for yourself.
