Adam Brody

Adam Brody is an American actor best known for his roles on The O.C. and Nobody Wants This. Brody was born and raised in San Diego, where he attended community college briefly before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time.

Brody landed early roles on shows including Gilmore Girls and Smallville before getting his breakout part as Seth Cohen on The O.C. in 2003. The series ran for four seasons and turned him into a pop-culture staple.

After The O.C., Brody appeared in films such as Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), Thank You for Smoking (2005), Jennifer’s Body (2009), Sleeping With Other People (2015) and Promising Young Woman (2020). He played the adult superhero version of Freddy Freeman in Shazam! (2019) and its 2023 sequel. He’s also had recurring roles in series including StartUp and Fleishman Is in Trouble. In 2024, he joined the cast of Netflix’s Nobody Wants This alongside Kristen Bell. His role as Noah Roklov earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

Brody began dating actress Leighton Meester in 2013 after meeting on the set of The Oranges, and the couple wed the following year. They welcomed their first child in 2015 and their second child in 2020.
