The O.C.

The O.C. premiered on Fox in August 2003 and ran for four seasons until February 2007. Named after Orange County, California, the location where the series takes place, The O.C. was one of the most popular new dramas of the 2003–2004 television season.

The show focused on the lives of affluent teenagers and their families, centering around Ryan Atwood (played by Ben McKenzie), who gets taken in by Sandy (Peter Gallagher) and Kirsten Cohen (Kelly Rowan), the parents of Seth (Adam Brody). Ryan and Seth are outsiders in the high-class world of Newport Beach and navigate relationships with other characters like Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton) and Summer Roberts (Rachel Bilson).

The show was a hit, with the first season winning four Teen Choice Awards and earning a nomination for the Outstanding New Program TCA Award. The second season was nominated for five Teen Choice Awards, winning four, including Best Drama. The third season was also nominated for five Teen Choice Awards and won four, including Choice Drama/Action Adventure Show and Choice Actor: Drama/Action Adventure, which Brody won for the third consecutive year.
