Best known for his portrayal of lovable bad boy Ryan Atwood on the Fox’s teen soap sensation The O.C., McKenzie has showcased his acting talents three-fold: on the small screen, silver screen and on stage.

Born in 1978 in Austin, Texas, he first starred in the New York stage production of Life is a Dream before landing his fame-making gig on the O.C.. The actor has also starred in the critically acclaimed film Junebug and in 88 Minutes opposite Al Pacino. McKenzie went on to star as police officer Ben Sherman in NBC’s Southland and a young Commissioner Jim Gordon on Fox’s Batman prequel Gotham.

He shares two children with wife Morena Baccarin. They share daughter Frances (born August 2016) and son August (born March 2021).
