General Hospital

General Hospital is a daytime soap opera that first premiered in April 1963 on ABC. The show holds the title of the longest-running scripted primetime or daytime show in the U.S. Initially centered around the medical drama of its titular hospital in Port Charles, the show expanded to include complex relationships, criminal activities and family dynasties. One of its most iconic storylines is the romance between Luke and Laura, whose wedding in 1981 became one of the most-watched soap episodes in history.
