Steve Burton

Steve Burton is an actor best known for his roles as Jason Morgan on General Hospital and Dylan McAvoy on The Young and the Restless. Burton was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and later moved to California. He attended Beverly Hills High School and briefly studied at Hollywood’s Theater Theater before pursuing acting full time.

Burton made his television debut in 1983 with an appearance on Manimal followed by a recurring role on Out of This World. In 1991, he was cast as Jason Quartermaine (later Jason Morgan) on General Hospital, becoming one of the soap’s most popular stars. His portrayal earned him a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama 1998. He temporarily left the series in 2012 and later joined The Young and the Restless as Dylan McAvoy, winning him a second Daytime Emmy Award. The actor returned to General Hospital from 2017 to 2021 before returning again in 2024.

In addition to his soap opera work, Burton has done extensive voice work for the Final Fantasy franchise.

Burton married Sheree Burton in 1999, and the couple share three children: Makena (born in 2003), Jack (born in 2006), and Brooklyn (born in 2014). In 2022, he announced their separation after more than two decades of marriage, revealing Sheree was having a baby with another man. In 2025, he tied the knot with Michelle Lundstrom.
