One Tree Hill

American drama series One Tree Hill stars Chad Michael Murray as Lucas Scott and James Lafferty as Nathan Scott, half-brothers who butt heads over sports, dating and their family life. The main cast also features Hilarie Burton as Peyton Sawyer, Bethany Joy Lenz as Bailey Scott, Paul Johansson as Dan Scott and Sophia Bush as Brooke Davis.

The series premiered on The WB in 2003. Creator Mark Schwahn eventually advanced the timeline by starting season 5 with the characters already out of college, though flashbacks to their college years were also included.

After the end of season 6, it was revealed that Murry and Burton would not be returning for season 7. Murray left primarily due to contract negotiations but made a guest appearance during the final season of One Tree Hill. Burton, meanwhile, has spoken out about alleged mistreatment on set, frequently reflecting on her experience on the “Drama Queens” podcast, which she cohosts with Bush and Lenz.

The show run on The WB ended in 2006, but One Tree Hill continued until 2012 on The CW. With nine seasons in total, it is the fourth longest-running series on the network and received numerous award nominations with three Teen Choice Award wins.
