Actress Hilarie Burton was born July 1st, 1982 in Sterling, Virginia and attended NYU. She started her entertainment career as a VJ for Total Request Live (TRL) on MTV before presenting at the 2000 MTV VMA show. In 2002, she made her TV debut, playing herself in the CW hit Dawson’s Creek.

Burton went on to act in WB drama One Tree Hill, playing the role of Peyton Sawyer. She also went on to appear in show and films such as The Secret Life of Bees, Grey’s Anatomy, Extant, and The Walking Dead.

The Virginia native began dating actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan in 2009, and the couple has a son and daughter together. They were married in October of 2019.
