The Gilded Age

The Gilded Age is a period drama that premiered on HBO in 2022, set in the booming world of 1880s New York City. The show follows Marian Brook, played by Louisa Jacobson, a young woman who moves from rural Pennsylvania to live with her wealthy aunts in Manhattan after the death of her father. As she enters the city’s high society, Marian becomes entangled in the world of old money families, led by the powerful Russell family, and their rivalry with the up-and-coming industrialists, like the ambitious George Russell, played by Morgan Spector, determined to break into New York’s social elite.

The series features a rich ensemble cast, including Christine Baranski as Marian’s aunt, Agnes van Rhijn and Cynthia Nixon as her progressive aunt, Ada Brook.
