Christine Baranski is an actress known for her roles in The Good Wife, The Good Fight, Mamma Mia! and The Big Bang Theory. Baranski attended Villa Maria Academy and later graduated from the Juilliard School in New York City in 1974.

Baranski began her career in theater, appearing on Broadway and winning two Tony Awards for her roles on The Real Thing and Rumors. She transitioned to television and film in the 1990s, gaining widespread recognition for her role as Maryann Thorpe on Cybill, which earned her the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 1995.

Her career expanded with standout roles in films like The Birdcage (1996), Cruel Intentions (1999), Chicago (2002) and Mamma Mia! (2008). On television, she became widely known for playing Diane Lockhart on The Good Wife and its spinoff The Good Fight.

In 2025, she joined the cast of Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers as Victoria.
Baranski married actor Matthew Cowles in 1983. They remained together until his death in 2014. The couple had two daughters, Isabel (born in 1984) and Lily (born in 1987).
