Home is where Cameron Diaz‘s favorite things are. The Other Woman actress, 41, opens up to the October issue of ELLE Decor about her 2,400-square-foot apartment in NYC’s West Village, telling the magazine that she’s personalized the space with some very select pieces of nostalgia.
“I’m surrounded by things that mean something to me,” the San Diego native tells the magazine. “That’s what a home is.”
Diaz, who worked with West Coast designer Kelly Wearstler to create the right vibe for her East Coast abode, adds that she blames her “love of sparkly, shiny things on [her] Cuban roots.”
“But I also wanted a place that felt very homey, very tactile,” she says.
Her home consists of a mix of warm earth tones and textures that really reflect Diaz’s personality and tastes, Wearstler tells the magazine — “it’s innately sexy without being overly flashy.”
The actress’ living room features a warm yellow armchair and plenty of sunlight, set against a textured wood wall. Her bedroom, meanwhile, is all dark wood and taupe-colored fabrics.
“Cameron has excellent taste and understands how colors work together and why quality pieces make rooms special,” Wearstler adds of Diaz.
Earlier this summer, Diaz was snapped enjoying some quality beach time with Leslie Mann and Kate Upton in the Bahamas. The trio have been filming in NYC and The Hamptons for upcoming comedic flick The Other Woman, which also stars Game of Thrones hunk Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Nicki Minaj, and Lady Gaga.
