They’re ready to party! George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s pre-wedding festivities caused quite the spectacle in Venice, Italy on Saturday, Sept. 27. Guests of the couple were shuttled by boats as they made their way to the seven-star hotel Aman Canal Grande to see Hollywood’s favorite silver fox tie the knot.
Some of Clooney’s famous pals in attendance included John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, Matt Damon, Vogue’s Anna Wintour, and Bono. Us Weekly’s London Bureau Chief Omid Scobie was on site for the chaos as the couple’s friends and family were greeted by several flashing lights from photographers lined up in other boats.
Crawford wore a navy blue halter dress and accessorized with silver earrings and bracelet for her friend’s special day. Blunt held onto husband Krasinski’s hand and a gold Jimmy Choo clutch with the other as she wore a bright blue Emilio Pucci gown. She wore her brown locks pulled back in a low bun and at one point checked her makeup in a compact mirror. She added a touch of glam with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Bono arrived early Saturday morning, but wasn’t the only latecomer. Leave it to Bill Murray to hilariously give the crowd a smile and wave as he made his way to the ceremony. Damon also grinned big as he looked up at the many spectators.
The man of the hour, however, stole the spotlight — and rightfully so! Clooney looked relaxed and refreshed as he was spotted making his way to his bride-to-be with several family members on his boat. He wore a Giorgio Armani tux and added a black bow tie, matching his male guests. He looked to be in high spirits and was grinning the whole ride over.
