Alexander Skarsgård is fully embracing his role as Tarzan! The 39-year-old actor became one with nature and posed with kangaroos, snakes and echidnas at the Wild Life Sydney Zoo in Australia on Tuesday, June 14.
Skarsgård stopped at the wildlife park, where he struck a pose with some of the friendly animals in the midst of a promotional tour for his new movie, The Legend of Tarzan.
Dressed in a navy blue sweater, gray jeans and black dress shoes, the True Blood hunk appeared unfazed as a large snake was draped across his shoulders. At one point, he lifted the reptile’s head just inches away from his own face and gazed into its eyes.
Skarsgård then visited a troop of kangaroos and fed them eucalyptus leaves. He even puckered up for a sweet kiss as one kangaroo looked up at him and stuck out its tongue.
The Battleship actor was also spotted petting the spiked back of an echidna. Moments later, he was cool, calm and collected as he fed the spiny anteater.
Later in the day, he spoke to the Daily Telegraph and gushed about his Tarzan costar Margot Robbie, who plays the adventurous character’s leading lady, Jane.
“What makes Margot so beautiful is not only that she’s a stunningly gorgeous woman, but that she is not vain,” he told the newspaper of the Australian actress, 25. “Margot is so down to earth and fun and that makes it even more attractive. She has got a great sense of humor, she’s so relaxed, treats everyone on set with respect and is just the most caring, generous person.”
The Legend of Tarzan hits theaters Friday, July 1.
