Bill O'Reilly
Bill O’Reilly is a television host, political commentator and author best known for anchoring The O’Reilly Factor on Fox News for over two decades. O’Reilly was raised in Levittown, Long Island, and graduated from Marist College with a bachelor’s degree in history. He later earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University and another in public administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
O’Reilly began his broadcasting career as a local news reporter and anchor in various markets, including Dallas, Denver and Portland. He joined CBS News and then ABC News, covering major international stories. In 1996, he was hired by the then-new Fox News Channel to host The O’Reilly Report, which was soon renamed The O’Reilly Factor. The show became one of the highest-rated cable news programs and established him as a major voice in conservative media.
In addition to his TV work, O’Reilly is a bestselling author known for his Killing series of historical books, including Killing Lincoln (2011), Killing Kennedy (2012) and Killing Jesus (2013). He has also hosted No Spin News and contributed to various radio and podcast platforms. He later joined Fox News but was removed from the network following allegations of sexual harassment (he denied these allegations).
O’Reilly was married to Maureen McPhilmy from 1996 to 2011. They have two children, Madeline (born in 1998) and Spencer (born in 2003). Their divorce was followed by a highly publicized custody battle.
