Carmelo Anthony is a retired NBA All-Star forward best known for his scoring ability, Olympic gold medals and time with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks. Anthony was born in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to Baltimore, Maryland at a young age. He attended Towson Catholic High School and later Oak Hill Academy. In 2002, he enrolled at Syracuse University, where he led the basketball team to a national championship in his freshman season before declaring for the NBA draft.

Anthony was selected third overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. He quickly became one of the league’s top scorers and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2003. After seven seasons with the Nuggets, he was traded to the New York Knicks in 2011, becoming the face of the franchise for several years. He later played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers.

Throughout his 19-season NBA career, Anthony was a 10-time NBA All-Star and won the NBA scoring title in 2013. He earned three Olympic gold medals as a member of Team USA and retired in 2023 as one of the top 10 scorers in league history. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2025.

Anthony married TV personality La La Anthony in 2010. The couple welcomed a son, Kiyan Carmelo Anthony (born in 2007), before officially divorcing in 2021 after a years-long on-and-off relationship. He also welcomed a daughter, Genesis Harlo, with ex Mia Burks in 2017.
