Cobie Smulders was born on April 3, 1982, in Vancouver, British Columbia. She rose to fame with her starring role as Robin Scherbatsky in How I Met Your Mother from 2005 to 2014 and as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, beginning with 2012’s The Avengers. She has also starred in series such as Friends From College from 2017 to 2019, Stumptown from 2019 to 2020 and 2021’s Impeachment: American Crime Story. Along with acting in TV and film, Smulders made her Broadway debut in Present Laughter in 2017, earning her a Theater World Award.

As for her personal life, Smulders got engaged to Taran Killam in January 2009 and they married in 2012. The couple welcomed daughters Shaelyn and Janita in 2009 and 2015, respectively.
