Donald Faison

Donald Faison is an actor and comedian best known for playing Dr. Chris Turk on the medical comedy Scrubs and Murray in the film Clueless. Faison was born in New York City, where he was raised in Harlem by parents who were involved with the National Black Theatre. He attended the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan, where he studied alongside longtime friend and actor Dash Mihok.

Faison made his film debut in Juice in 1992 before appearing in movies including Sugar Hill (1994), Waiting to Exhale (1995) and Clueless (1995). He also landed a recurring role on Felicity before joining the cast of Scrubs in 2001. His performance as Dr. Chris Turk became his breakout role. Faison won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Scrubs in 2002.

Faison’s notable credits include Remember the Titans (2000), Uptown Girls (2003), Something New (2006), Next Day Air (2009), Skyline (2010), Kick-Ass 2 (2013), Ray Donovan and Extended Family. He has also voiced characters in Robot Chicken and Star Wars: The Clone Wars and cohosts the podcast “Fake Doctors, Real Friends” with Scrubs costar Zach Braff. He returned as Turk for the Scrubs revival in 2026.

Faison welcomed son Sean in 1996 with ex-girlfriend Audrey Ince. He married Lisa Askey in 2001, and they welcomed twins Kaya and Dade (born in 1999) and son Kobe (born in 2001) before divorcing in 2005. He later wed CaCee Cobb in 2012, and they welcomed son Rocco (born in 2013) and daughter Wilder Frances (born in 2015).
