Iskra Lawrence

Iskra Lawrence is a plus-size British model who gained global recognition for her modeling campaigns for American Eagle’s Aerie brand, where her photos were unretouched. Throughout her career as a model, she has promoted natural beauty and self-acceptance, later becoming a brand ambassador for Marina Rinaldi’s Persona collection. She also launched her own swimwear line with Cupshe.

Growing up she was a competitive swimmer and also joined the U.K. National Youth Theatre at 15. During this time she also faced rejection from modeling agencies due to not fitting the body size standards. She continued to go against these standards and got her big break when became the face of Aerie’s #AerieREAL campaign. She leveraged social media to amplify her body-positive message.

Lawrence confirmed her relationship with songwriter Philip Payne in January 2019. Together, they welcomed their first child, Alpha (born in April 2020), and their second child, a daughter, whose name they have not announced (born in October 2024).
