About

Born in Boston on Christmas Day, 1978, Jeremy Strong grew up idolizing actors Daniel Day-Lewis, Al Pacino, and Dustin Hoffman. He got his start in a children’s theater group in elementary school before gravitating toward his childhood heroes in high school. Some of his first jobs were in the greenery department of The Crucible (1996) with Day-Lewis and as an intern for the editor of Looking for Richard (1996), starring Pacino.

Strong studied drama at Yale University, then moved to New York City in 2001, where he began taking roles in Off-Broadway and Broadway shows. Though best known for his time on HBO drama Succession, his first major film role came opposite Day-Lewis in the 2012 biopic Lincoln.

He later portrayed a CIA analyst in Zero Dark Thirty (2012), Lee Harvey Oswald in Parkland (2013) and activist James Reeb in Selma (2014). Strong then landed a role in Adam McKay’s The Big Short (2015), which helped him earn his spot on Succession, which McKay executive produced. Strong portrayed Kendall Roy through the show’s four-season run, earning him a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2020 and a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama in 2021.

Strong married Danish psychiatrist Emma Wall in 2016 after the two met at a party during Hurricane Sandy in 2012. They share three daughters, Ingrid, Clara and a third whose name they have not revealed.
