Larry Birkhead

Larry Birkhead is a celebrity photographer and television personality. Birkhead spent his childhood in Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated from Doss High School before attending the University of Louisville, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

Birkhead began working as a freelance photographer, focusing on celebrity events and red carpet appearances. In 2004, he met Anna Nicole Smith at the Kentucky Derby, and the two began an on-and-off relationship that lasted until her death in 2007. Smith and Birkhead shared a daughter, Dannielynn (born in 2006).

Birkhead has since made occasional television appearances, including 20/20, Good Morning America and various Lifetime and ABC News specials focused on his life raising his daughter. He and his daughter are regularly seen attending the annual Kentucky Derby, which has become a public tradition for the pair.

Birkhead has continued to raise his daughter as a single father and has not publicly shared any romantic relationships since Smith’s passing.
