Monica Bellucci is an Italian actress and model known for her work in films like Malèna, The Matrix Reloaded and Spectre. Bellucci was born in Umbria, Italy. She began modeling at age 13 and later studied law at the University of Perugia before leaving to pursue a full-time modeling career. She signed with Elite Model Management and quickly rose in the fashion world, modeling for brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Dior.

She transitioned into acting in the early 1990s with Italian and French films, gaining international attention with her performance in Malèna (2000). She went on to appear in Irreversible (2002), The Passion of the Christ (2004), The Brothers Grimm (2005) and Shoot ’Em Up (2007). In 2003, she joined the Matrix franchise as Persephone in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. In 2015, she became the oldest Bond girl at age 50 when she starred opposite Daniel Craig in Spectre (2015).

Bellucci married French actor Vincent Cassel in 1999. The couple welcomed daughters Deva Cassel (born in 2004) and Léonie Cassel (born in 2010) before divorcing in 2013. She later linked to artist Nicolas Lefebvre from 2017 to 2019. She then began dating Tim Burton in 2023, and the two called it quits in 2025.
