Niecy Nash-Betts made her professional acting debut in the 1995 dramedy Boys on the Side. From 2003 to 2009, Nash-Betts garnered recognition for her role as Deputy Raineesha Williams in the comedy series Reno 911! She reprised her role as Raineesha from 2020 to 2022. During her time on Reno 911!, Nash-Betts was also the host of Clean House on the Style Network from 2003 to 2010, for which she won a Daytime Emmy award. Following her work on Reno 911! and Clean House, Nash-Betts was cast as Denise “Didi” Ortley on HBO’s Getting On from 2013 to 2015, earning two Emmy nominations.

Nash-Betts went on to star on series such as Scream Queens from 2015 to 2016, Claws from 2017 to 2022, 2019’s When They See Us and Ryan Murphy’s Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story in 2022. Her performance in Dahmer earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. She currently stars as Detective Lois Tryon on the horror series Grotesquerie.

Nash-Betts was married to Don Nash from 1994 to 2007. The pair welcomed three children together: Dominic, Donielle and Dia, born in 1991, 1995 and 1999, respectively. Following their divorce, Nash-Betts moved on with Jay Tucker and the duo tied the knot in 2011 but called it quits eight years later. In 2020, Niecy married singer Jessica Betts.
