
Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic is a Serbian professional tennis player. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, Djokovic began playing tennis at age 4 and trained under Serbian coach Jelena Genčić before moving to Germany to attend the Nikola Pilić tennis academy.
Djokovic went professional in 2003 and rose quickly through the Association of Tennis Professionals rankings. He captured his first Grand Slam title at the 2008 Australian Open, establishing himself as a dominant force. Djokovic has since won multiple titles at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, US Open and French Open, surpassing numerous records including most weeks at No. 1.
Off the court, Djokovic is the founder of the Novak Djokovic Foundation, which focuses on early childhood education in Serbia. He has also been a central figure in tennis governance, cofounding the Professional Tennis Players Association in 2020.
Djokovic married Jelena Ristić in 2014 after more than a decade together. The couple has two children: son Stefan (born in 2014) and daughter Tara (born in 2017).
