
Rick Fox
Rick Fox (born Ulrich Alexander Fox) is a Bahamian-Canadian actor and former professional basketball player. Born in Toronto, Canada, he moved with his family to the Bahamas as a child. He played high school basketball in the Bahamas and later in Warsaw, Indiana. He later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he starred on the Tar Heels basketball team and earned a bachelor’s degree in radio television and motion pictures.
Fox began his NBA career after being selected in the first round of the 1991 draft by the Boston Celtics. He was named to the All-Rookie Second Team after his first season and later joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 1997. He went on to win three consecutive NBA championships with the Lakers from 2000 to 2002.
After retiring from basketball in 2004, Fox transitioned into acting with roles in Blue Chips (1994), He Got Game (1998), Holes (2003) and The Retirement Plan (2023). He also ventured into the esports business with ownership in Echo Fox before exiting the company in 2019.
Fox shares son Kyle (born in 1994) with former partner Kari Hillsman. He also has a daughter, Sasha, (born May 2000) with actress Vanessa Williams, to whom he was married from 1999 to 2004. He later dated actress Eliza Dushku from 2009 to 2014.
