Valerie Bertinelli landed her breakthrough role as Barbara Cooper Royer in the sitcom One Day at a Time from 1975 to 1984, which earned her two Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film. Following her work on One Day at a Time, Bertinelli appeared in several TV movies before landing the role as Gloria in Touched by an Angel, which ran from 2001 to 2003. She also starred as Melanie Moretti in the sitcom Hot in Cleveland from 2010 to 2015.

In addition to her acting career, Bertinelli hosted Food Network shows Valerie’s Home Cooking from 2015 to 2023 and Kids Baking Championship from 2015 to 2024.

Bertinelli married musician Eddie Van Halen in 1981 and the twosome welcomed son Wolfgang in 1991 before separating in 2001. Following their divorce, Bertinelli married Tom Vitale in 2011. Bertinelli filed for separation from Vitale in 2021. In March 2024, Bertinelli started dating Mike Goodnough. The pair announced their split in November 2024.
