All the feels! Netflix released brand-new stills and a behind-the-scenes video from its upcoming Full House reboot, Fuller House, on Tuesday, January 26, and the beloved Tanner family hasn’t changed much.
“Fuller House carries the same emotional, loving, family tone through the show that the original did,” Candace Cameron Bure (DJ Tanner-Fuller), 39, says in the featurette. “It’s crazy to be back here again!”
“We are a family and have been since we started doing the show 28 years ago,” adds her onscreen sibling, Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), 34. “[The plot] is sort of the reverse: It’s now three women raising these three boys.”
As previously explained, 2016 DJ Tanner is a recently widowed, single mom of three boys: 12-year-old Jackson (Michael Campion), 7-year-old Max (Elias Harger) and newborn Tommy Jr. (played by the Messitt twins). After the death of her husband, the eldest Tanner daughter receives support from her younger sister Stephanie and fellow single mom/best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), who both move into the Tanners’ childhood home in San Francisco.
Naturally, the ladies welcome a household pet that resembles the Tanner family’s original beloved pooch, Comet. One of the stills shows little Max holding the adorable golden retriever puppy, who has already been affectionately dubbed as “Comet 2.0” by the Internet.
The new photos hint that there will be more heartfelt family scenes. Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) and Stephanie, following in his footsteps as an aspiring musician, are seen sharing a heart-to-heart in one pic. Other photos show the girls hugging it out with the kiddos.
The series promises guest appearances from Bob Saget (now granddad Danny Tanner), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone), Lori Loughlin (Becky Katsopolis) and … Scott Weinger (DJ’s old boyfriend, Steve Hale)!
