John Stamos is an actor, musician and producer best known for his role as Uncle Jesse on Full House and its Netflix sequel Fuller House. Stamos grew up the eldest of three children in Cypress, California. Encouraged by his parents to pursue the arts, he began performing in high school and later attended Cypress College before focusing on acting full time.

Stamos got his start in television with a breakout role as Blackie Parrish on General Hospital, earning a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. His career took off when he was cast as Jesse Katsopolis on Full House, a role he played from 1987 to 1995. Outside of sitcoms, he appeared on ER, Glee, Grandfathered and You. He has also had a prolific theater career, starring on Broadway in productions such as Cabaret and Bye Bye Birdie. A talented musician, Stamos has performed regularly with The Beach Boys since the 1980s.

From 2016 to 2020, Stamos reprised his role as Jesse on Netflix’s Full House sequel, Fuller House.

In his personal life, Stamos was married to actress Rebecca Romijn from 1998 to 2005. In 2018, he married actress Caitlin McHugh, and the couple welcomed their son, Billy, later that year.
