Gossip Girl

Based on the book series of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar, Gossip Girl revolves around the lives of upper-class teens living in New York City. The series is narrated by an anonymous blogger (voiced by Kristen Bell) who receives tips about characters’ personal lives and spills their secrets online.

The show starts with Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) returning to Manhattan after a mysterious absence. She attempts to reconnect with frenemy Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and finds a new love interest in classmate Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley). Other notable characters include Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen), Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr), Rufus Humphrey (Matthew Settle) and Ivy Dickens (Kaylee DeFer).

Gossip Girl aired from 2007 to 2012 but has remained popular thanks to its presence on streaming platforms. A reimagined series with the same name premiered on Max in 2021, with Bell returning as the narrator but featuring a new cast of characters.
