The Masked Singer

Reality singing competition The Masked Singer combines singing, celebrity contestants and mystery in a fun-filled televised package. The series premiered in the U.S. on Fox in January 2019 and was inspired by the popular South Korean franchise. Hosted by Nick Cannon, the show features celebrities performing 90-second covers of popular songs while dressed in head-to-toe disguises. A team of panelists, which includes Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke, try to guess which A-listers are underneath the disguise and join the audience in voting for their favorite singer.As the singers are eliminated, they take off their masks to reveal their true identities.

Each season of The Masked Singer features a group of four to six celebrity contestants. Hints about the celebrities’ identities are occasionally given out in clue packages after the performances.

The show has spawned two spinoffs since its premiere: an aftershow and a dance version titled The Masked Dancer.
