Ashley Madekwe

Ashley Madekwe is a British actress best known for her roles on Revenge, Salem and The Strays. Madekwe was raised in South London and attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts and later graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Madekwe began her acting career with roles on British television, including recurring appearances Teachers and Drop Dead Gorgeous. She gained attention for her recurring role as Bambi in the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl from 2008 to 2010. Her breakthrough in the U.S. came in 2011 when she was cast as social climber Ashley Davenport on ABC’s Revenge.

She later starred as Tituba in the supernatural series Salem and appeared in episodes of The Umbrella Academy, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Tell Me a Story. On the big screen, the actress has had roles in Venus (2006), Victim (2011) and County Lines (2019), the last of which earned her a 2021 BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Madekwe married actor Iddo Goldberg in 2012. The couple welcomed their first child in 2023.
