Camila Alves

Camila Alves is a Brazilian American model and designer known for her work in fashion and for her marriage to Matthew McConaughey. Born in Minas Gerais, Brazil, Alves moved to Los Angeles at age 15 to visit an aunt and decided to pursue opportunities in the United States. She later settled in New York City to focus on modeling. She built her career through hands-on experience in the fashion industry throughout her late teens, later expanding her presence as a designer and on-air personality.

Alves went on to appear in campaigns and magazines including Men’s Vogue and People. She later expanded into design, cofounding the handbag line Muxo with her mother. She also ventured into television, hosting the third season of Shear Genius in 2010. In 2016, she launched the lifestyle website Women of Today, focusing on food, wellness and family. Alves has also been involved in philanthropic efforts, including cofounding the Just Keep Livin Foundation with McConaughey.

Alves began dating McConaughey in 2006. The couple got engaged in December 2011 and married the following year in Texas. They share three children: Levi (born in 2008), Vida (born in 2010) and Livingston (born in 2012).
