About

Chris Robinson is the lead singer of the rock band The Black Crowes. Chris was raised in Atlanta and started the band Mr. Crowe’s Garden alongside brother Rich Robinson. The two would play gigs in clubs around Atlanta and were heavily influenced by the rock scene of the ‘80s.

In 1989, the group changed its name to The Black Crowes and landed a record deal with Def American. Shortly after, they released their debut album, Shake Your Money Maker. Despite a number of lineup changes, Chris remained with the group and continued to release music and tour with them until 2002.

Following the group’s hiatus and the departure of drummer Steve Gorman, Chris began a solo career. His first solo release, “The Red Road,” was featured in the film The Banger Girls and was followed by the release of his debut album later that year. New Earth Mud (2002) was well received, and he later reunited with previous bandmates to form a group of the same name. The group went on to headline for a number of successful acts in the early 2000s.

In 2005, The Black Crowes announced a reunion. The singer remained active with them until their final disbandment in 2015. He went on to form the band As the Crow Flies in 2018.

From 1996 to 1998, he was married to actress Lala Sloatman. Following their divorce, he wed actress Kate Hudson in 2000, and the pair welcomed son Ryder in 2004. The couple split in 2007. He was then married to Allison Bridges from 2009 to 2018; the two welcomed daughter Cheyenne Genevieve in 2009.

In 2020, the singer tied the knot with Camille Johnson.
