Eric Stonestreet is an Emmy-winning actor known for his portrayal of Cameron Tucker on the ABC comedy series Modern Family. As a child he wanted to be a clown, later inspiring Cam’s clown character, Fizbo, in Modern Family. Stonestreet earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Kansas State University before studying improvisation at Chicago’s ImprovOlympic and The Second City Training Center, eventually moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting.

Stonestreet began his career with guest roles on TV shows like Malcolm in the Middle, Nip/Tuck, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. His breakout role came in 2009 with his role in Modern Family, which earned him two Primetime Emmy Awards. He has also appeared in films like Almost Famous and Identity Thief and voiced characters in animated movies such as The Secret Life of Pets 2.

Stonestreet is engaged to Lindsay Schweitzer, a pediatric nurse. The couple began dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2021. They live in Kansas City, where they plan to have their wedding.
