
Evan Handler
Evan Handler is an actor and author best known for playing Harry Goldenblatt on Sex and the City and Charlie Runkle on Californication. Handler was raised in the suburb of Cortlandt, New York, and attended Hendrick Hudson High School. He later studied acting at the Juilliard School in the Drama Division but left before graduating to pursue work in theater and film.
Handler first landed small roles in television and film throughout the ’80s and ’90s, including appearances on Miami Vice, Law & Order and The West Wing. His breakthrough came in 2002 when he joined HBO’s Sex and the City as Charlotte York’s love interest, Harry Goldenblatt.
Following Sex and the City, Handler starred as Charlie Runkle for seven seasons on Showtime’s Californication. He has also appeared in The Breaks, Power, The Three Stooges and Ransom. He later reprised his role as Harry on the Sex and the City spinoff And Just Like That.
Handler is also the author of two books, including a memoir about surviving leukemia titled Time on Fire: My Comedy of Terrors (1996).
Handler married chemist Elisa Atti in 2003. The couple has one daughter, Sofia Clementina (born in 2007).
