About

Hoda Kotb is a television personality and journalist, best known for her work as an anchor on NBC’s Today show.

After getting her start in local news, Kotb joined NBC as a Dateline correspondent in 1998 before becoming the cohost of the fourth hour of Today in 2007. One year after Matt Lauer’s Today firing in 2017, Kotb was named to replace him as Savannah Guthrie’s coanchor the following year.

Following Kathie Lee Gifford’s Today exit in 2019, Kotb continued to cohost the show’s fourth hour, retitled Today With Hoda & Jenna, with Jenna Bush Hager. Kotb announced she would be departing the NBC morning show in September 2024 and bid farewell to the series in January 2025.

Kotb has taken home a number of accolades for her work over the years, including multiple Daytime Emmy wins and nominations, a Peabody award and was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame in 2022.

Kotb is a mom of two, adopting daughters Haley and Hope in 2017 and 2019, respectively, with her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman. She announced the pair’s split in 2022, three years after they got engaged.
