About

Jason Beghe is an actor best known for playing Sergeant Hank Voight in Chicago P.D. for more than a decade, but he is a Hollywood veteran, also known for films such as G.I. Jane and Monkey Shines.

Beghe was a model in Europe before his acting career took off in 1985, landing the role of Cupcake in Compromising Positions, starring Susan Sarandon. He later reunited with Sarandon in Thelma & Louise.

Beghe co-starred with Moira Kelly in the TV drama To Have & To Hold, where he played police officer Sean McGrail. He later made guest appearances on shows such as Criminal Minds, JAG, Veronica Mars, Cane and more.

Beghe has been a part of the cast of Chicago P.D. since 2014. In 2016, reports of aggressive behavior on set surfaced, with claims made by his former co-star Sophia Bush. That same year, NBC said the situation was investigated and dealt with internally while Beghe released a statement acknowledging his behavior: “I have struggled with anger issues for some time, and over the past year, I have been working with a coach to help me learn how to mitigate my temper.”

In 1994, Beghe joined the Church of Scientology after taking acting classes with someone involved in the group. In 2007, he left Scientology and faced criticism for it. He later called the church a “cult.”

In 2000, Beghe married Angie Janu, together they have two children, Bix and Bo Bear. In December 2017, Beghe filed for divorce, which was finalized in September 2020.
