Kate Beckinsale

Kate Beckinsale is an actress known for her roles in action and drama films, including the Underworld franchise and Pearl Harbor. The daughter of actors Richard Beckinsale and Judy Loe, she spent her childhood in London, England. She went on to attend the University of Oxford, where she studied French and Russian literature before leaving to pursue acting. Beckinsale began performing at a young age and appeared in British television and stage productions early in her career.

She rose to prominence in the 1990s with roles in British costume dramas before transitioning to Hollywood with films like Much Ado About Nothing (1993) and The Last Days of Disco (1998). Her breakout in mainstream cinema came with Pearl Harbor in 2001, followed by her starring role as Selene in the Underworld series, establishing her presence in the action genre.

Beckinsale has since appeared in a range of films, including Serendipity (2001), Van Helsing (2004), Everybody’s Fine (2009) and The Patient (2025). She is also known for her work in television and continued presence in the entertainment industry.

Beckinsale was in a long-term relationship with Michael Sheen, with whom she shares a daughter, Lily (born in 1999). She later married director Len Wiseman in 2004, and they separated in 2015 before finalizing their divorce in 2019. She later briefly dated comedian Pete Davidson and rapper Goody Grace.
