Kid Rock

Kid Rock (born Robert James Ritchie) is an American singer, rapper and songwriter known for blending hip-hop, rock and country influences into a distinct sound. He spent his childhood in Romeo, Michigan, where he attended Romeo High School and began performing as a DJ and breakdancer in his teens.

Kid Rock began recording in the late 1980s and released his debut album, Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, in 1990. His major breakthrough came with the 1998 album Devil Without a Cause, featuring the hit “Bawitdaba,” which sold more than 11 million copies in the U.S. and established him as a mainstream artist. He later went on to perform with artists such as Limp Bizkit and Run-DMC.

His most notable works include the albums Rock n Roll Jesus (2007), Cocky (2001), Born Free (2010) and First Kiss (2015). His single “Picture,” a duet with Sheryl Crow, marked his crossover into country rock. He continued to crossover with releases like Sweet Southern Sugar (2017) and Bad Reputation (2022).

Kid Rock has one son, Robert James Ritchie Jr. (born in 1993), whom he welcomed with then-girlfriend Kelley South Russell. The two split shortly after his birth. He was briefly married to actress Pamela Anderson in July 2006, but they filed for divorce in November 2006 and it was finalized the following year. He was later romantically linked to Audrey Berry, and Us Weekly confirmed the pair called it quits in late 2024.
