About

Usher (born Usher Raymond IV) is a Grammy-winning artist and one of the most influential musicians of the 2010s. He spent his early childhood in Chattanooga, Tennessee, before moving with his family to Atlanta, where he attended North Springs High School. After an early musical start with the group NuBeginning, he left the band as a teenager to pursue a solo career.

Usher released his self-titled debut album in 1994, but it was his second album, 1997’s My Way, that shot him to stardom. He won his first Grammy Award in 2002, taking home Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for his song “U Remind Me.” His later releases include Here I Stand (2008), Raymond v. Raymond (2010), Hard II Love (2016) and Coming Home (2024). Over the years, he became known for hits including “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love,” “OMG” and “Yeah!” and has collaborated with stars including Lil Jon, Alicia Keys and Wiz Khalifa.

Usher was previously married to stylist Tameka Foster from 2007 to 2009. The two welcomed children Usher and Naviyd in 2007 and 2008, respectively. He married Grace Miguel in 2015 but filed for divorce in 2018.

He began dating Jenn Goicoechea one year later, and the couple tied the knot in Las Vegas during Super Bowl LVII weekend in 2024. (Usher headlined the halftime show that year.) The pair welcomed daughters Sovereign and Sire in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
