Natalie Dormer

Natalie Dormer is an English actress best known for her roles in The Tudors, Game of Thrones and The Hunger Games film series. She attended Chiltern Edge Secondary School and Reading Blue Coat School before studying drama at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

Dormer made her film debut in Casanova (2005) and gained attention for her role as Anne Boleyn on Showtime’s The Tudors from 2007 to 2008. Dormer continued to land television and film roles before rising to international prominence as Margaery Tyrell on HBO’s Game of Thrones, which she joined in 2012. Her performance earned her critical recognition and nominations at the Screen Actors Guild Awards as part of the ensemble cast. She remained on the show until 2016.

In 2014, the actress portrayed Cressida in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014) and its sequel the following year. Some of her other notable appearances include The Riot Club (2014), Picnic at Hanging Rock, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels and The Forest (2016). She has also appeared on stage in productions such as Venus in Fur and Anna Karenina.

Dormer was previously engaged to director Anthony Byrne, whom she met while filming The Tudors. The couple split in 2018. In 2021, she welcomed a daughter with partner David Oakes, her Venus in Fur costar. The twosome tied the knot in 2023.
