Shonda Rhimes is a producer and screenwriter best known for serving as the showrunner for Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal. She also served as the executive producer of ABC’s How to Get Away With Murder, Netflix’s Bridgerton and its spinoff, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, and the miniseries Inventing Anna.
Rhimes founded the production company Shondaland, and in 2015, she released her memoir, Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand in the Sun, and Be Your Own Person.
The producer adopted her first daughter, Harper, in June 2002 and second daughter Emerson in February 2012. Rhimes welcomed her third daughter, Beckett, in September 2013 via surrogacy.
