SZA

SZA, whose real name is Solána Rowe, is a singer and songwriter born on November 8, 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey. She began her music career as the first female artist to sign with Top Dawg Entertainment after self-releasing two EPs, See.SZA.Run in 2012 and S in 2013.

SZA rose to fame after signing a joint recording contract with RCA Records which released her critically acclaimed debut album Ctrl in 2017. The album featured the hit single “Love Galore,” which was certified platinum by RIAA and peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Ctrl also earned four Grammy Award nominations and became the second longest-charting R&B album by a female artist on the Billboard 200.

Her 2022 album, SOS, spent 10 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200 and broke the record for the largest streaming week for an R&B album in the U.S. that included four songs that remained in the top 10.

She was also nominated in 2018 for a Grammy Award for her song “All the Stars” with Kendrick Lamar. She took home her first Grammy in 2021 when SZA’s feature on Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More” won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. SZA has also won four other Grammy Awards in addition to several American Music Awards, Billboard Women in Music Awards and more.

The performer has also ventured into acting. After a brief guest appearance on HBO’s Insecure, she made her big screen debut opposite Keke Palmer in 2025’s One of Them Days.

SZA has kept her dating life quiet but openly speaks on her relationships in her music without ever disclosing any particular names. However, before breaking through the industry she did confirm through Twitter that she and Drake had a short-term relationship in 2009.
