Andie MacDowell

Andie MacDowell, born Rosalie Anderson MacDowell, is an actress and former model. MacDowell attended Winthrop University for two years before pursuing a modeling career.

MacDowell first gained critical acclaim for her role in Sex, Lies and Videotape (1989), earning the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead. MacDowell later starred in Groundhog Day (1993), Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) and Green Card (1990).

On television, MacDowell has starred in the Hallmark Channel series Cedar Cove (2013–2015) and the Netflix miniseries Maid (2021), where she costarred with her daughter, Margaret Qualley.

MacDowell married former model Paul Qualley in 1986; the couple had three children — son Justin (born August 1986) and daughters Rainey (born March 1989) and Margaret (born October 1994) — before divorcing in 1999. MacDowell married businessman Rhett Hartzog in 2001; they divorced in 2004.

MacDowell’s daughters, Rainey and Margaret Qualley, have pursued careers in acting as well.

MacDowell has been vocal about embracing natural aging, notably showcasing her gray hair and advocating for self-acceptance.
