About

Brian Littrell is a member of the Grammy-nominated boy band Backstreet Boys. Littrell was raised in Kentucky and was interested in both athletics and performing arts as a child. He got his musical start singing for the choir at his family’s church and later participated in theater productions at school.

In 1993, the singer flew out to Orlando to audition for the Backstreet Boys. He joined the final roster alongside Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough and cousin Kevin Richardson. They went on to release their debut album Backstreet Boys in 1996. By the time they released their sophomore album Backstreet’s Back (1997), the group had become a mainstream success.

In the early 2000s, the group went on hiatus, allowing Littrell to pursue solo music. His interest in contemporary Christian music led him to release his album Welcome Home in 2005, which landed the No. 74 spot on the Billboard 200. He released singles “Over My Head” and “By His Wounds” in 2007 and went on to release two Christmas albums recorded with his family.

The Backstreet Boys reunited in 2007 and went on to release a number of charting albums, including In a World Like This (2013) and DNA (2019). In February 2025, the group announced a Las Vegas residency that would take place later that year.

Littrell was named a member of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2015 alongside Richardson.

The musician met model Leighanne Reena Wallace in 1997, and the pair tied the knot in 2000. They welcomed son Baylee Thomas Wylee Littrell in November 2002.
