Candice King

Candice King (née Accola) is an actress best known for her starring role as Caroline Forbes on The CW’s supernatural smash, The Vampire Diaries.

She began her career as a singer. In 2006, she dropped her indie debut, It’s Always the Innocent Ones. Two years later, she hit the road as a backup singer for Miley Cyrus‘ Best of Both Worlds tour.

Candice soon began appearing on TV in episodes of How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural and Greek. She joined The Vampire Diaries in 2009 and later began dating her costar, Zach Roerig; the actors split up in May 2012.

The actress got engaged to The Fray’s Joe King during a trip to Italy in May 2013. After tying the knot in October 2014, the duo welcomed daughters Florence (born January 2016) and Josephine (born December 2020). In April 2022, Candice filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

Candice moved on with The Originals alum Steven Krueger and the pair got engaged in May 2025. They wed in February 2026 before welcoming their first baby together.
